The City of Chur

Our campus is only 10 minutes away from Chur, which is the capital of the canton of Graubünden and the oldest city in Switzerland. It is framed by snow-capped mountains and unspoiled nature. The first inhabitants go back to the early Stone Age, and you can visit the early Roman ruins nearby.

The old town is a trip into the past with its traditional architecture and cozy, winding streets. The town is home to many old churches and cathedrals that are worth a visit as they trace the evolution of Christianity in the region. Shops and cafés are plentiful and you will find everything from traditional Swiss foods and crafts, to more modern chain stores and restaurants.

The Graubünden Region

Studying in Switzerland - especially in the fantastic mountains of Graubünden - means rigorous, high-quality education...and lots of fun, nature and lifestyle perks. As the number one tourism canton in Switzerland, Graubünden is ideal for getting to know the tourism business from the ground up.

Many Graubünden residents and visitors enjoy the summer half of the year with sports such as biking, hiking and golfing. The raging river in the Rhine Gorge is just as fascinating as the Ela Park with its mountain streams and stone floors. Motorcyclists appreciate the popular mountain pass roads San Bernardino, Splügen, Julier, Lukmanier, Oberalp, which meander past meadows full of alpine herbs and bell-bearing cows. And if you experience your first alpine glow at sunrise or sunset, you won't want to leave anytime soon.

Here are some fun facts about Graubünden:

  • 150 valleys, 615 lakes, and 937 mountain peaks up to Piz Bernina at 4,049 meters above sea level
  • Famous for natural alpine landscapes, very good weather and cozy lodgings
  • Home to the most prestigious ski areas in Europe: St. Moritz, Arosa, Davos, Lenzerheide and Flims / Laax.
