Four Steps to Join EHL Campus Passugg

Step 1. Online application

Please start by creating a profile with the online application form. You can save your file at any time and return later to upload documents and finish your application. You will be required to submit the documents listed below electronically via the online application portal. We accept documents in French, English, German or Italian.

  • Final high school diploma, including certified academic transcripts and an explanation of the grading system.

  • English language certificate (TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS or Cambridge First Certificate)

  • One passport sized photograph

  • Passport copy

  • CV or Résumé, including special interests and activities

  • Proof of employment (if applicable)
  • Statement of motivation.

Important:  Don't forget to check the box under General Terms and Conditions, which will complete your application.  

 

Step 2. Selection process

After you have submitted the online application, the following process begins:

  • EHL Campus Passugg will confirm the receipt of your application and issue the application fee invoice of CHF 300.
  • Your application will be reviewed. If successful, you will be invited for a personal interview, either by telephone or Skype (or on campus if you are in Switzerland).
  • After the interview, the decision will be made on your acceptance. When successful, a Provisional Letter of Acceptance will be sent to you, along with the Student Contract and the invoice for the first semester.

 

Step 3. Payment 

Once you have receive a provisional acceptance from EHL Campus Passugg, you will receive an invoice to pay for the first semester fees.

EHL Campus Passugg has engaged Western Union Business Solutions for secure, low cost payment in your currency of choice. Please follow the payment instructions on the website from Western Union.

As soon as payment for the first semester has been received and the Student Contract has been signed and returned, your place of study at EHL Campus Passugg will be reserved and a formal Letter of Acceptance will be sent.

 

Step 4. Visa application for non EU/EFTA nationals

With your official Letter of Acceptance, you can proceed with your student visa application. Please note that a visa application can take up to 10 weeks.

As soon as the visa is confirmed, EHL Campus Passugg will issue a school fee payment confirmation to the Swiss Embassy in your home country, which allows the visa to be stamped into your passport. You can now book your flight (please check the entry date on your visa) and send us your arrival details, so we can organize your transfer from Zürich airport to Passugg.

Application Deadlines

We strongly encourage you to apply early in order to guarantee availability. Once the intake is full, you may be waitlisted to the next intake. Final decisions will be communicated approximately two weeks after your interview. privacy policy.

 

January intake:

Application deadline: November 6

  • You must contact admissions if you would like to apply after this date. If there is space in the class, your application may still be considered on a case-by-case basis.

If you wish to also apply for financial aid from the EHL FoundationJuly 31

  • Financial aid application deadline August 31
  • Financial aid decision in September
  • Please note, you must have an offer of acceptance to apply for financial aid.

If you require a visa to study in Switzerland (non CH & EU): September 30

  • Please keep in mind that the student visa application process may take up to 3 months.

August intake:

Application deadline: June 5

  • You must contact admissions if you would like to apply after this date. If there is space in the class, your application may still be considered on a case-by-case basis.

If you wish to also apply for financial aid from the EHL Foundation: January 31

  • Financial aid application deadline February 28
  • Financial aid decision in March
  • Please note, you must have an offer of acceptance to apply for financial aid.

If you require a visa to study in Switzerland (non CH & EU): April 30

  • Please keep in mind that the student visa application process may take up to 3 months.

Admissions Requirements for the Swiss Professional Degree (HF)

You will turn 18 in the course of the first year of study towards the Swiss Professional Degree or Professional Path into the EHL Bachelor Program at EHL Campus Passugg

  • Final secondary school certificate/high school diploma in student's own country
  • Professional diploma (apprentice certificate)
  • Other higher secondary education credentials may be accepted at our discretion. Please contact the admissions office for further details.

Should you be in the final year of secondary or high school and wish to apply, evaluation will be based on predicted grades and/or results from previous years.

You can submit the results of your final exams and diploma certificates later, but always before the start of your studies at EHL Campus Passugg.

The transcripts must show the courses you have taken and the grades you received. If you have attended university since leaving secondary school, then you must submit your university certificates and transcripts (for students who have attended university in Switzerland an exmatriculation letter is required). 

All certificates and transcripts that are not in English, French, German or Italian must be translated into English or French by a certified translator. The translation should be accompanied by comprehensive information on the school or university attended and an explanation of the grading and assessment system.

The statement of motivation is an important part of your application. It is an opportunity for you to showcase your strengths, motivation and interests. Please choose one of the following three topics and limit your statement to no more than two A4 typed pages

  • Why have you chosen to study at EHL Passugg? What criteria did you use when assessing whether EHL Passugg is the right fit for you?

  • EHL Passugg prepares students to become leaders in a competitive, demanding and global industry. What are your expectations for EHL Passugg and your career objectives ?

  • Which current trends do you find most interesting in the hospitality industry? How do you think EHL Passugg will help you manage these trends in your career?

Excellent written and verbal command of English is required. As proof, you are asked to submit one of the following international English certificates:

  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System) academic module, with a minimum score of 6.0
  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a minimum score of 80 (iBT)
  • Cambridge Advanced Examination, with a C minimum
  • First Certificate Examination, with a score of A only

Alternatively you can submit evidence that English was the main medium of instruction during your last three years of secondary/high school studies.

  • No work experience is necessary to start the HF Diploma. Since practical experience in the professional field is a success factor on the job market, a practical assignment in the hospitality industry before the studies can be an added value.
  • Within the study program, a total of 12 months of internship experience in the hospitality industry is completed. Applicants with a vocational training in a hospitality profession (Swiss EFZ degree) can be exempted from the corresponding work areas.
At least one letter of recommendation from a former teacher, school counselor or employer.

The Professional Pathway to EHL's Bachelor Degree

Upon successful completion of the Hôtelière-Restauratrice/Hôtelier-Restaurateur HF program, you can complete the EHL bachelor’s degree by studying for three additional semesters.
